There are quite a lot of normal cases for some of the ultra slim laptops/Macbooks out there, this is a slightly different take on the standard case. The case is made from a thick but softer felt, inside you have an additional lining in the main compartment, which is very soft. On the rear you have two back pockets where you can put smaller items like pens or phone. Front section there is another second compartment which is big enough for larger items like a notepad of smaller tablet.
A velcro fastening closes the flap on the front, and you get another small felt pouch with an elasticated band to hold it together when it's wrapped up. You can store a power adapter in there if you want or maybe a mouse, or various other items. Nice to have both included in the package.
Quality is very good with nice dense materials used (which will work well for absorbing shocks or impacts), stitching is to a high standard too. This is useful not only for Macbooks/Ultrabooks and other more compact notebooks, you can also store a larger tablet in there, or a netbook. It could even be used a document or magazine holder.
A very nice product which is both useful, made to a good standard, and the price reflects value for money too.
The Inateck protective case is a smart looking case in which you can store your laptop in order to offer that little bit of extra protection for your laptop whilst you are on the move.
In the packet, you get:
* the felt case for your laptop
* a felt case for mouse or cable etc
It's always good to have extra protection for your expensive gadgets and computing equipment. This case offers this in a stylish and fashionable looking way.
The outside of the case is felt, and the inside is also soft to the touch and non abrasive to your laptop.
There is a main compartment where you can store your laptop, and there is also another compartment which is big enough to store a few papers, or in my case I put in my iPad mini. There are also two pockets on the back which are suitable for your mobile phone, cards, purse or any other small items which you need to carry about with you. This makes the case ideal for taking to meetings etc as it can carry all your essentials without having to carry another bag to put bits and pieces in. It is certainly smart enough for use at work and in meetings.
If you're looking for something to protect your ultrabook and you don't want something that is too thick, heavy or bulky, then this is an excellent choice.
I was sent this item to test and honestly review.
I've been on the hunt for a trimmed down envelope style case for my Air so I don't have to lug my shoulder bag down to the corner coffeehouse. Th is thing checked all the boxes... especially qualifying for Amazon Prime. I ordered this slipcase knowing it looked great in the pictures, but when it came I was really surprised at the quality of it. The outside is a heavy duty felt, while the inside is a crazy soft flannel. It really comes off as an eye catching accessory that looks very minimal and understated at the same time.
It says it's for a 13" Macbook but my 11" Macbook Air fits perfectly without sliding around, and leaves a little room if I need to carry papers or magazines. There are well placed pockets on the back that could be used for a phone, mouse, cards or the like, and a large pocket up front that could fit a 7or 8" tablet.
A great buy and well worth the $14

Script from the video: Common sense would suggest that whenever you're not using your device, whatever that device is, you should protect it; none more so than your laptop. Usually, when it boils down to actually getting stuff done, you'll be needing one and using it.
This is the Inateck Macbook Protect 1300 Sleeve carrying case and it's presumably designed for 13 inch Macbook products such as the larger Air and the smaller Pro.
We'll come back to that a little later because first we must address this, erm, weird thing that comes with the case.
It's a small pouch that has a band that can be tied around it. I'm not entire sure what you use it for because I don't think you can fit a charger in it and you have to carry it separately as it doesn't attach to the main case in anyway. So for now I'll put my usb hard drive in it just to show you how big it is.
Back to the main attraction and the big question you're all about to ask me is: has VGJFelix defected to the dark side and bought himself a Macbook?
Well no, so to demonstrate what can be put in this case I have with me my Acer 720p Chromebook which is an 11.6 inch laptop - the same as a small Macbook Air. The footprint of the laptop is slightly smaller than the case but not small enough to jiggle around and I can only imagine 13 inch laptops fit very snugly in the case.
So if, like me, you don't have a Macbook to put in the case, here's what you could use.
Acer Aspire S3, S5, S7, Asus Zenbook UX31, HP spectre xt, Samsung SERIES 9 NP900X3B, Samsung SERIE 5 NP530, Lenovo Yoga 13.3, Lenovo Yoga2 pro, Dell XPS XPS13, Toshiba Satellite Z830 Ultrabook
The case has a felt exterior and a soft flannel interior which makes the case very soft to touch with a nice bouncy cushion feel to it.
There are no rigid seams or hard corners so the case feels flexibly but not floppy and cheap. It is remarkably thin but not thin to the point where it feels flimsy.
Obviously you would never want to drop your laptop but if you did, this case would provide some protection although it's not going to sustain huge impacts like a fridge falling on top of it or a nuclear explosion... what I'm trying to say is: this case cuddles your laptop, rather than full on protection.
But it does have hidden extras such as this large slit pocket on the front of the case. This has ample room to fit more things in but you have to bear in mind that the case doesn't have much, what you would call girth. Putting chucky, fat items in the case will make it expand quickly which reduces its ability to protect and may prevent you from closing the Velcro strap.
As you can see, trying to squeeze the charging brick and plug extension cable for my Chromebook into the front pocket has quite a devastating effects on the way the case looks and handles. But most 11 and 13 inch laptops are designed to be ultrabooks that last all day without the need to recharge.
In addition to this large front slit, you also have two smaller pockets on the reverse side of the case to put items in such as your MP3 player, mobile phone and everyone's favourite item, the VGJFelix pencil stylus.
Forget the fact that this Inateck case is ostentatiously named MacBook protect, it's perfectly designed for all small, lightweight, compact laptops - as long as you don't need to bring your charger with you. And at just ï½£11, this is an absolute steal... even if you do get this weird extra thing.
I received this as a review product and found that -
- it's a perfect fit for a 13" MacBook Air laptop.
- the case has a soft , premium feel which is very pleasant to look at and hold. The case has attracted admiring comments from friends and colleagues who have seen it. It's smart enough to be professional without being dull.
- the Velcro fastener aligns properly and its hold is reassuringly strong.
- there are two pouches at the back of the case for small, slim items you may want to carry with the laptop, such as small cable adaptors; however these pouches don't fasten closed.
- my only negative comment is more about the name of the case than the quality of the case itself. Put simply, the MacBook Air is an incredibly slim but incredibly vulnerable piece of kit, particularly as it is so easy to carry around. This 'protector' case is not very protective - it provides a small amount of padding, and works well as a second line of defence for my MacBook Air in its usual bag, but the case itself is not going to protect the laptop from much more than a tiny knock.
- in summary, it's a very good pouch or extra line of defence for the MacBook Air, and very well made.
